What’s the Process for Replacing a Blade Series Outlet Thermostat?

Discover easy-to-follow guidance for safely removing and installing a new thermostat assembly in your Docking Drawer in-drawer outlet. Each step is clearly outlined for a smooth replacement process.

This quick video demonstrates how to remove and install a thermostat assembly. As you can see, the outlet has already been taken out, leaving the neutral wire (white), ground wire (green), and line wire (black). Next, we’ll access the back of the unit to unscrew the two Philips head screws and set them aside. Typically, it’s easier to pull the assembly off first, as it simply slides on and off. That’s the thermostat assembly right there.

The wire nuts operate by flipping up small levers, which allows you to pull the wires free. Once removed, you’ll have the thermostat assembly separated. To reinstall, carefully wiggle the assembly back into place, then align it to start the first screw. After securing the first screw snugly, tighten the second one. Next, align the push button and press it on. Either of the black wires can be reconnected into the wire nut; it doesn’t matter which one you choose. You’ll again have black, white, and green wires remaining.

When reinstalling the outlet, remember the brass-colored screw connects to the black wire, the silver-colored screw to the white wire, and the green screw to the green wire. That completes the thermostat replacement process.
