Safety Interlock Disconnect with Corner Mount Limit Switch is designed for both 15A and 20A circuits and stands out as our most versatile option for appliance garage applications. It can be installed into a double or triple gang junction box, allowing you to safely disconnect power to as many as four small appliances. When the cabinet door touches the limit switch, power is automatically disconnected to the appliance garage for safety and CEC compliance.

Enhanced Safety Layer

Specifically crafted for in-cabinet appliance garages, the Safety Interlock Disconnect supports installation with up to two receptacles, enabling power connection for as many as four devices. When the appliance garage door closes—hiding appliances like toasters, coffee makers, juicers, or mixers—the corner-mounted limit switch senses the door’s position and cuts power, thereby reducing potential hazards while complying with CEC guidelines for high voltage outlets within the cabinet in Canada.

Versatile Project Compatibility

This product offers greater adaptability compared to our other solutions. Although it requires some planning and setup, it allows powering more devices (up to four) and can be paired with either a 15 or 20 amp standard or GFCI outlet, giving you more flexibility for your installation.

The Safety Interlock Disconnect Outlet combines safety and adaptability. It houses a robust relay capable of managing continuous power up to 20 amps, ensuring dependable operation. Whether your project calls for a 15A or 20A receptacle, this outlet accommodates both, provided local electrical codes are followed. Additionally, it supports electric motors up to 2 horsepower, enhancing its range of applications.

Intelligent Operation

Docking Drawer provides two limit switch variants: one that cuts power when pressed and another that supplies power when pressed. These switches detect the door’s movement; as the door engages the switch, it either disables or activates power to the Safety Interlock Outlet and attached devices. The Corner Mount Limit Switch is designed with a slim profile to avoid interfering with appliance space inside the cabinet.

Compliance with Electrical Codes

This product meets the National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements in the United States and is certified to UL 498 and CSA 22.2 #42 standards. It also carries ETL Listing for use in both the US and Canada, confirming its safety and regulatory compliance. The final determination of compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code rests with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

Simple safety feature for in-cabinet countertop oven

We used this with Ikea cabinets so that our countertop oven/air fryer that we put in a large cabinet cannot be used when the door is closed. We used Ikea doors and a piano hinge to create a DIY bifold type door that is out of the way while using the appliance and this door switch shuts off the outlet when the door is closed. We've been using it for over a year and love it!

Okay so far, plastic frame should be steel

Just installed the switch, but the plastic frame that the face plate attaches to has brass (?) threads for the faceplate screws and mine immediately stripped, so now it’ll have to figure out a different way to attach the faceplate. For the price, steel would probably have been more durable. I also don’t love the stab connectors for security, pigtails would be more robust but the screw doesn’t come out far enough.

Docking Drawer Canada

Chris, thanks for the important feedback on the disconnect product. First off, we’ll replace the unit due to the stripped cover plate mounting screw. I’ll investigate using steel in the next batch. As for the stab, they connectors should be secure as they have an internal locking plate that secures the wire. I’ll send you some pictures of the locking mechanism. Thanks for the feedback. Scott
