Advanced Fire Prevention
A recent Consumer Reports study using National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) data found that over half of residential fires during a seven-year period were traced back to appliances like dishwashers, fridges, and microwaves. Our Fire Guard Outlets are engineered to help safeguard your home from these frequent sources of fire, actively working to lower the chances of expensive fire or smoke damage. The moment smoke or a sudden temperature spike is detected, the unit sounds an alert, glows red, and instantly shuts off power to the outlet and any plugged-in devices—helping stop a fire before it can even start. This proactive safety feature delivers extra peace of mind in today’s tech-driven homes.
Flexible Installation
While the Fire Guard Disconnect with Smoke & Heat Sensor does require some assembly, it delivers greater adaptability for your setup. It’s designed for installation in double or triple gang junction boxes, with or without GFCI, and supports two GFCI wiring options: either in series with a GFCI or on a GFCI circuit breaker.
Multiple Use Cases
Add an extra level of protection for appliances like dishwashers, gas dryers, AV closets, 3D printers, microwaves, lithium battery charging stations, grow lights, and other electronics that may remain powered while unattended. It’s also ideal for less-frequented spaces such as basements, attics, or crawl spaces where larger equipment is often plugged in and left unsupervised.
Meets Safety Standards
At Docking Drawer, safety is our top priority, and all of our outlets undergo thorough testing to meet required certifications. The Fire Guard Disconnect is ETL Listed for the US & Canada as an Interlock device, affirming its safety and reliability. Please note, the smoke sensor component is not certified to any UL or CSA standard and is intended only as supplemental protection. It is not a substitute for a code-required smoke alarm or detector.
