Eliminate daily countertop clutter and create organized spaces with simple-to-install Docking Drawer Blade Series outlets. Perfect for any kitchen, bathroom, makeup desk, entryway table, or any other drawer you would like to install an outlet into, our 20 amp Blade In-Drawer Outlets can safely charge up to four devices at a time–such as phones, tablets, fitness trackers and digital scales–or power up to two devices at a time, such as hair dryers, curling irons, and other styling tools.

Smart Solutions

Offering a variety of outlet finishes and configurations, you can customize a Docking Drawer 20 amp Blade In-Drawer Outlet to match your aesthetic and your application. Choose from white, black, stainless steel, or brass finishes and outlets featuring AC plugs or USB-C (PD 30 & 60 Watt) and USB-A charging ports to create perfectly organized and functional spaces. Stay connected by having your devices plugged in at all times, eliminating the need to plug and unplug hot tools, small appliances, and other types of devices. If you are worried about obsolescence or outlet failures, don’t—Blade Series outlets are simple to replace or upgrade, making your in-drawer outlet solution future-proof.

Simple To Specify

The Blade Series outlets are designed to fit into four drawer types - shallow, tall, narrow (as small as 9” wide), and vertical. The outlets can also be installed in multiple configurations, including facing left or right or facing up or down. The outlet requires just 2” of space behind a drawer box to be installed. For limited space installations like inset cabinets or closets, an installer can create a spacer to reduce this requirement to 1.25”. All Blade Series outlets can be easily installed into both standard and custom cabinet sizes, using just the seven screws included in the package. The 4.5’ outlet cord that comes with the 20 amp Blade In-Drawer Outlet can be plugged into any 20 amp in-cabinet outlet.

Safety is Our Priority

Every Docking Drawer outlet is ETL Listed for use in the US & Canada, is tamper resistant, and includes an interlocking thermostat safety feature that de-energizes the outlet when the surrounding temperatures exceed 120°F/49°C. You can have complete peace of mind, knowing that your family and home are protected with Docking Drawer outlets. Our outlets are built to last and undergo rigorous cycle testing over 500,000 times which is equivalent to a drawer opening and closing every 15 minutes for 30 years. We confidently back all Docking Drawer Blade Series outlets with a 5-year warranty.

How to Plan Your Docking Drawer Project

Every Docking Drawer Blade Series project starts by identifying your drawer box type. There are four basic drawer types to choose from - Shallow, Tall, Narrow, and Vertical. After identifying your drawer box type, measure the drawer box width (OD) to confirm the drawer is wide enough to accommodate a Docking Drawer Blade Series outlet. The required minimum dimensions can be seen here.

Project Planning in Canada

Docking Drawer outlets are ETL Listed for use in Canada. To plan your project, follow the planning details above and consider the following to comply with the CEC*:

  • In-Drawer USB Charging Stations for Canada: Specify a Docking Drawer Blade Duo (1514-288) or Blade (1514-180) outlet with USB-C and/or USB-A ports only. Because USB ports are low voltage, the outlet can remain powered on and charge devices even when the drawer is closed.
  • In-Drawer AC Outlets for Canada: Specify a 20 amp Docking Drawer Blade Duo or Blade outlet paired with the Safety Interlock Outlet with Blade Limit Switch (6020-1000W). This solution de-energizes the AC outlet as the drawer begins to close, making it safe for use in locations like bathroom vanities.

*The Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has the final say on whether an installation meets the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code.

Do I Need a 15 or 20 amp Docking Drawer Blade Series Outlet?

We often get asked this when it comes to choosing the right outlet for your drawer, especially when it comes to bathroom vanity projects where the outlet is used to power hair dryers and curling irons. See the answer here.

How do I ensure my Blade Series outlet is GFCI protected?

If a Blade Series outlet is installed in a location that requires GFCI by code, there are 4 ways to install the outlet to have GFCI Properties. See the 4 ways here.

Love having a charging drawer in our kitchen!

We installed this Blade Duo in Ikea cabinet drawers which required a little extra prep work to attach the mounting arm to the wall (instead of fiberboard back of cabinet) and to cut the metal back of the drawer. But overall installation was straightforward and we love having a drawer for charging to keep devices off the countertop. And we really appreciate the heat sensor safety feature in case anything overheats while charging!

Perfect solution for de-cluttering your kitchen

We did a remodel of our kitchen and one of our goals was to hide all the gadgets and phones the family would leave on kitchen counters for charging.

We wanted to hide all gadgets in a drawer and be able to charge in the drawer safely. We found docking drawer that worked perfectly for this. The model we got has 2 AC outlets and 2 usb-c 65W ports for charging laptops fast. One of the best parts of the docking drawer outlet is that it has a Safety feature to disable the outlet when it detects high temperatures - very useful when charging laptops.

The outlet works great for our needs and is highly recommended.
